Pi Ya Nuo (Megan Lai) had an inauspicious start to her life. When she was born 25 years ago, her parents and extended family – along with their fortuneteller – eagerly awaited her arrival in the delivery room so that they could bless the beginning of the Pi family's heir. Upon hearing her first cry, the fortuneteller predicted on the spot that the baby boy would be a great success and a natural-born leader. But when the nurses announced that the baby was a girl, the stunned fortuneteller immediately announced that the girl would not survive her childhood unless she lived as a boy for the first 25 years of her life. Only then could Ya Nuo change her bad fate and bring prosperity to her family. On her 26th birthday, Ya Nuo could go back to her true gender without any ...

Gwei Lun Mei

We have some similarities :) Found some interesting photos here https://www.tumblr.com/search/kwai+lun+mei Taiwanese actress Gwei Lun Mei reveals a love for travelling solo Montblanc brand ambassador Gwei Lun Mei is known for her innocent, girl-next-door persona, but the face of the Bohème Collection is feisty. "I'm the sort of person who does what I want whether it is in my career or personal life so I can definitely relate to the Bohème spirit which is about independence, maturity and freedom. The collection is for the woman who knows what she wants and who dares to go after her dreams – like me. I don't know what the future holds so whatever I want to do, I will do it to the best of my ability," says Gwei at the launch of the Bohème Collection in Shanghai, China recently. Preferring to speak in Mandarin (although she can converse in both English and French) during an interview with the Malaysian media, Gwei shares how the brand's six-point star...

Return of the Cuckoo and Cheung Chi Lam

A series which I missed so much. Until today, I never made any effort to look for or watch it despite the opportunity. And this is what I got from the internet which I'm really thankful to the reviewer - I'm making a copy of the review for my memories. Update: After finished watching this series, I'm not so fancy about how it ended. Return of the Cuckoo Reviewed by: Wind2 Rating:           Cast includes: Chilam Cheung, Charmaine, Steven, Nancy, Michael Tong, Irene Wong and more Before watching this show, I had long heard about it from the internet, newspapers etc. This show had the highest rating in Hong Kong. Thus, I have been looking forward to seeing it. Finally the show was shown and, to tell the truth, it is nice and simply great throughout, not to mention its rather sad ending too. I was practically looking forward to it every day, searching for anything relate to this series from the internet. My opinion: I felt most sorry for Chilam. H...

Michael Jackson cause of death: powerful anesthetic propofol and another sedative, Lorazepam

Finally .... the cause and manner of Michael Jackson's death is reviewed. The next question is will his Dr. be charged for manslaughter? Coroner: Jackson death homicide, sleep aids caused LOS ANGELES (AP): Michael Jackson's death was a homicide caused primarily by the powerful anesthetic propofol and another sedative, the coroner announced Friday in a highly anticipated ruling increasing the likelihood of criminal charges against the pop star's doctor. The Los Angeles County coroner's office determined the cause of death was "acute propofol intoxication." Lorazepam, another sedative sold under the brand name Ativan, contributed to the death. Additional drugs detected in Jackson's system were the sedatives midazolam and diazepam, the painkiller lidocaine and the stimulant ephedrine. The coroner did not release Jackson's full autopsy report, citing a security hold requested by Los Angeles authorities investigating the case, and declined to comment beyon...

RIP Yasmin Ahmad

Yasmin Ahmad is one of the very talented person in Malaysia's entertainment industry. Some of her famous production including Gubra and Sepet. May she rest in peace. KUALA LUMPUR: Award-winning film director Yasmin Ahmad (pic) has died from massive bleeding in the brain at the Damansara Specialist Hospital. She died at 11.25pm yesterday. She had undergone surgery following her collapse at the TV3 headquarters Seri Pentas on Thursday. Relatives, loved ones and a large group of luminaries from the local movie and television scene gathered at the hospital the moment they heard about her death. Watched 4 French movies!

I gave myself 2 days break and watched 4 French movies in a row during the French Film Festival 2009 at GSC 1 Utama and Mid Valley. And the experience was truly rewarding. Le crime est notre affaire (2008) (Crime Is Our Business) 4/5 - Love the hilarious part of this movie. Les 400 coups (1959) (400 Blows) 3.5/5 - I reckon it's a well recognized production ever but I just don't get it. Séraphine (2008) 4.5/5 - It was a mixed feeling. Initially I felt inspired and looking forward. Then I cried terribly to my disbelieve (I yet to know why). I pretty much feeling sad to see her life ending as such. Ensemble, c'est tout (2007) (Hunting and Gathering) 4/5 - The feeling is just so warm and romantic - the Parisian way.

Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009)

After reading the exclusive interview with Isla Fisher, the main actress of Confessions of a Shopaholic, I'm led to go for this comedy! Struggling with her debilitating obsession with shopping and the sudden collapse of her income source, Rebecca Bloomwood unintentionally lands a job writing for a financial magazine after a drunken letter-mailing mix-up. Ironically writing about the very consumer caution of which she herself has not abided, Rebecca's innovative comparisons and unconventional metaphors for economics grants her critical acclaim, public success, and the admiration of her supportive boss Luke. But as she draws closer to her ultimate goal of writing for renowned fashion magazine Alette, she questions her true ambitions and must determine if overcoming her "shopaholic" condition will bring her real happiness.
