AirAsia and Jetstar deals on

I wonder how's the deal gonna work out ... PETALING JAYA: The proposed partnership between AirAsia Bhd and Jetstar is nearing fruition after a year of talks and the deal will be announced in the first week of January. A media conference has been scheduled for Jan 6 in Sydney where both parties and Qantas will announce the details of a strategic agreement and how these parties will work "innovatively together'' so as to drive greater cost efficiencies across AirAsia and Jetstar. One route that may be shared is the KL-Sydney sector which AirAsia has failed thus far to get rights to ply. Jetstar, even though it has stopped plying the route since September 2008, has the rights. Will that rights be shared by AirAsia? The Kangaroo route (from any Australian point to KL and on to Europe) is a possible route that these airlines will capitalise on and with the partnership, AirAsia will be able to offer connectivity all over Australia via Jetstar Australia and it can tak

The most precious gifts of life from you

I feel so touched when reading this piece of news. Personally, I'm so glad to have registered as an organ donor this year and hope when I'm gone one day, at least I still could contribute something to the needy. Kudos to those who have pledged for organ donation. For those who have not, I sincerely urge you to consider this. This could be the most precious gift of life from you. KUALA LUMPUR: As people were busy counting down to Christmas, the parents of a 17-year-old boy made a generous decision that gave what could be the best present to at least three people. The boy had been declared brain dead by doctors at Selayang Hospital after a road accident on Dec 20. The parents' decision set off a chain of events which eventually saw their son's kidneys transplanted to two young patients — a girl and a boy, both 16 — and his liver given to a three-year-old girl. The operation was carried out at the Selayang Hospital from 9pm to 5am on Christmas Day. Besides the li

Falling in Love with Sara Bareilles - Gravity

Love at first heard. And that was my memory. Now I'm just too drown with it. Sara Bareilles - Gravity MP3 download Something always brings me back to you It never takes too long No matter what I say or do I'll still feel you here Till the moment I'm gone You hold me without touch You keep me without chains I never wanted anything so much Than to drown in your love And not feel your reign [Chorus] Set me free, leave me be I don't want to fall Another moment into your gravity Here I am And I stand so tall Just the way I'm supposed to be But you're on to me And all over me You loved me 'cause I'm fragile When I thought that I was strong But you touch me for a little while And all my fragile strength is gone. [Chorus] I live here on my knees As I try to make you see That you're everything I think I need Here on the ground But you're neither friend nor foe though I can't seem to let you go The one thing th

Another gruesome murder of young girl

I'm so sorry to hear this gruesome murder of young girl. Hope the murderer could be arrested soon and be severely punished for his act. KUALA LUMPUR: Fresh fears about a ruthless sexual predator have been ignited following the gruesome murder of a girl who is believed to have been raped, sodomised and then dumped into a retention pond. Sources said a post-mortem on the body yesterday showed that she could have been sexually assaulted prior to being strangled. There were injuries on her private parts. Questions are being raised if the monster who brutally raped and murdered nine-year-old Nurin Jazlin Jazimin in 2007, is back after lying low for two years. The Nurin case remains unsolved. Another girl, Sharlinie Mohd Nashar, five, has been missing from her Taman Medan home since Jan 9, 2008. Police are not confirming anything, apart from saying that a full-scale investigation has been launched into the latest murder, and that police stations throughout the country had been

Michael Schumacher back to F1

Michael Schumacher is making a come back to F1. Am sure his returns will make F1 more interesting. The deal reunites Schumacher with Ross Brawn who was the technical director for Schumacher during his sev

JCY to offer 25.9pc shares in listing 2009/12/09 JCY International Bhd, planning what may be Malaysia's second-largest initial public offering in six years, may offer 25.9 percent of its stock in its IPO. Maxis profit jumps on mobile ops PETALING JAYA: Maxis Bhd's net profit for its third quarter ended Sept 30 jumped 28.1% to RM615mil against the previous corresponding period supported by growth in its total mobile subscription. Revenue inched 1.74% up to RM2.16bil from a year ago. TA: Hold from buying Maxis

A contrasting view from TA. TA cuts call on Malaysia's Maxis to hold 12.01.09, 08:33 PM EST Dec 2 (Reuters) - Maxis Bhd: * Cuts call on Maxis to hold from buy as share price has appreciated 7% since listing. * Because of that, total upside to target price, inclusive of the dividend yield is less than 15%. * Pegging a PER of 17x against its estimated FY10 numbers Maxis should be valued at RM5.80. * Taking the 75% dividend payout policy as announced, we estimate FY10 dividend to be around 25.6 sen per share. * Our valuation implies a dividend yield of 4.4%. On EV/EBITDA basis, our valuation implies a multiple of 9.12x on FY10 EBITDA. Source: Forbes

World’s top 4 killer diseases

All these 4 are caused by our lifestyles and can be prevented. Let's change the way we live for the betterment of our health before it's too late. KUALA LUMPUR: Heart diseases, chronic respiratory conditions, cancer and diabetes have been named the world's top four killer diseases – more fatal than infectious illnesses like AIDS and influenza A (H1N1). United Nations University-International Institute for Global Health director Tan Sri Dr Mohamed Salleh Mohamed Yasin said such a revelation was frightening because these diseases were "highly preventable" and were due to lifestyle choices . "Such non-infectious diseases or chronic non-communicable diseases (CNCDs), also contribute to 60% of all deaths worldwide . "It is twice the number of the combined deaths caused by HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, maternal and perinatal conditions and nutritional deficiencies," he told reporters at Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
