Khoo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong - be split or dropped

I agree! Eager to see new talents. Adios Kien Keat-Boon Heong KUALA LUMPUR: It's curtains down for Malaysia's top pair Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong. On Saturday, the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) council decided to stop the under-performing duo, who have been together for seven years, from going for any more tournaments. A decision will be made later to either split or drop them from the national set-up. BAM are disappointed with the world No. 6 ranked Kien Keat-Boon Heong's performances in the ongoing Maybank Malaysian Open at the Putra Stadium. On Wednesday, the 2010 Malaysian Open winners crashed out in the opening round to China's Chai Biao-Hong Wei – extending their agonising four-year Super Series title drought. It is not the first time that Kien Keat-Boon Heong's future as a pair has been cast in doubt. They were also on the verge of being dropped or split after the London Olympic Games in 2012 but were thrown a lifeline to play on.

TOKYO: Japanese mobile operator NTT Docomo said Friday that the launch of a new smartphone operating system to rival Google's Android and Apple's iOS had been pushed back owing to development delays. The open source offering called Tizen, based on the Linux operating system, is the product of a tie-up between companies from Japan, China, South Korea, Europe and the United States. The consortium that makes up Tizen Association include Docomo, US giant Intel, Japan's Fujitsu, South Korea's Samsung and LG, China's Huawei, and European mobile carriers Vodafone and Orange. Docomo's president had previously said he hoped the new system would launch by the end of the current fiscal year to March. But that timeline is being pushed back because Docomo is still "deve

Moody's downgrades Qantas to "junk" status

Wow! I didn't know that Qantas's financial position is that bad until I read this.  SYDNEY: Embattled Australian carrier Qantas faces a further increase in its borrowing costs after Moody's downgraded its credit rating to "junk" status on Thursday, just weeks after Standard and Poor's took the same action. Moody's cited "a sharp deterioration in the company's core domestic business" following the airline issuing a shock profit warning and slashing jobs in December. In cutting Qantas's rating to Ba2, or junk status, from Baa3, Moody's senior vice president Ian Lewis blamed aggressive competition from domestic rival Virgin Australia. "The downgrade to Ba2 reflects a worse-than-expected impact on Qantas's credit profile of a marked sharp deterioration in the company's core domestic business, which has been a key supporting factor of its previous investment-grade rating", he said. "The cause of the deterioration in
