Good one from David!

Haha ... good one from David.   "As for whether I am a frivolous person or not, that belongs to my private life. I don't have to share it with others. I hope that everyone can respect each other's privacy." - David Tao.

"A disciplined mind can help the well-being of the entire body"

I wish I got inspired too from this quote of Tan Sri Lin See-Yan. The quality of life WHEN I read Tan Sri Lin See-Yan's article, I had a glimmer of hope. I am truly inspired by his words that "... a disciplined mind can help the well-being of the entire body ." I am 26 years old and suffers from scoliosis and, as a result, depression . Lin's success as a person and economist provides an extra push for me to believe that this ailment will not stop me from attaining my dreams of becoming a successful lecturer (I am an instructor at a local university) who produces high-quality research. Thank you. In Pain but still hopeful Via The Star

Think out of the box!

COULD YOU THINK OF A SOLUTION?  Many years ago in a small Indian village, a farmer had the misfortune of owing a large sum of money to a female village moneylender. The female Moneylender, who was old, fat and ugly, fancied the farmer's handsome son,Cliff.  So she proposed a bargain.  She said she would forego the farmer's debt if she could marry his son. Both the farmer and his son were horrified by the Proposal. So the cunning female moneylender suggested that they let Providence decide the matter. She told them that she would put a black Pebble and a white pebble into an empty moneybag. Then the son would  have  to pick one pebble from the bag.  If he picked the black pebble, he would become her husband  and her father's debt would be forgiven.  If he picked the white pebble he need not marry her and his father's debt would still be forgiven.  But if he refused to pick a pebble, his father would be thrown into Jail  They were standing on a pebble-strewn path in the f...

Reason, season or lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person... When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, To aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on. Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an exper...

The story of vanilla ice cream and General Motors

This is a real story that happened between the customer of General Motors and its Customer-Care Executive. Pls read on..... A complaint was received by the Pontiac Division of General Motors: 'This is the second time I have written to you, and I don't blame you for not answering me, because I sounded crazy, but it is a fact that we have a tradition in our family of Ice-Cream for dessert after dinner each night, but the kind of ice cream varies so, every night, after we've eaten, the whole family votes on which kind of ice cream we should have and I drive down to the store to get it. It's also a fact that I recently purchased a new Pontiac and since then my trips to the store have created a problem..... You see, every time I buy a vanilla ice-cream, when I start back from the store my car won't start. If I get any other kind of ice cream, the car starts just fine. I want you to know I'm serious about this question, no matter how silly it sounds "What is ther...

You’re going to have to figure it out

Douglas Merrill, former chief information officer and vice-president of Engineering of Google, was quoted as saying: “I’ll ask candidates who aren’t engineers how to build a Web crawler. The right answer doesn’t matter. I want to hear you think the problem through, because the odds are good that since we’re an innovative company, you’re not going to know how to do what you’re going to be asked to do. You’re going to have to figure it out.”
