Can the Malaysia government publish the justification for this increase? The increased amount and percentage are huge. And no public consultation? Solely a government decision?   Highway tolls up next month, by 50 sen to RM2 Fifteen national highways, the bulk of them in and around the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, are to increase their toll rates from 50 sen to as high as RM2 from Jan 1, 2014, newspapers reported today. KLIA2 targeted for opening on 2 May 2014

I hope so. This KLIA2 project has been poorly managed - delayed completion (was slated to open on 28 June 2013) and inflated cost (from RM 1.9 billion to RM 4 billion)! MAHB targets to open KLIA2 for operations on May 2, 2014, following the missed completion date of April 30, 2013. The joint venture (JV) between UEM Construction Sdn Bhd and Bina Puri Sdn Bhd said it would complete the work package for the low-cost terminal, KLIA2, by the stipulated deadline on Jan 31, 2014. Pulau Sipadan and vicinity - safe for visit?

Glad to hear the Taiwanese tourist has been released after more than a month (see the Pom Pom Kidnapping Timeline for the chronology of events). Frankly speaking, those few kidnapping incidents at Sabah eastern coastal area for the past years have made me to think twice if I want to return to Semporna / Pulau Mabul / Pulau Sipadan vicinity for visits and water activities.
