EU grants RM1.5mil to 6 NGOs

KUALA LUMPUR: The European Union (EU) has given grants amounting to 300,000 euros (RM1.5mil) to six non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to fund their activities.

They are the Centre for Independent Journalism; Konrad Adenauer Foundation, in partnership with Pusat Komas; Friedrich Naumann Foundation, in partnership with ERA Consumers; The Equal Rights Trust, in partnership with Tenaganita; Humana Child Aid Society Sabah and Persatuan Kesedaran Komuniti Selangor.

The grants, funded by the EU's European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights, were given at a seminar on women's rights on Friday.
